Spectral Warping
Spectral warping is a time domain transformation that
warps the frequency content of a signal. Shown here is a warped impulse
(where all frequencies are present but only for a short time). Spectral
warping is useful for analysing the frequency content of signals within
a narrow range with improved resolution, or can be used for mixed
signal testing, distortion analysis, etc. This project investigated
some of the different implementations and applications of spectral
warping, culminating in the design of an ASIC chip for performing
spectral warping.
